We know choosing a Plumbing, Electrical, or Heating and Air contractor may seem daunting at first.  There are many choices out there, with many contractors offering deals that seem too good to be true.  At Jim Dickerson Company we do not use gimmicky offers or misleading ads.  Call us old fashioned, but we still believe in building our business based on the same tried and true, sound principles:  Provide outstanding service, with honest and integrity, at a fair and reasonable price.

Here’s the current and unfortunate state of our industry.  Many contractors have trained their technicians to be salespeople who are paid on commission.  These technicians are trained to cross-sell, up-sell, and always replace fixtures and equipment instead of performing a simple repair.  This produces a high revenue ticket for the technician instead of a low cost repair.  And these technicians are graded on a revenue generated basis.  In fact, many technicians have daily and weekly quotas they’re supposed to meet or they get reprimanded in front of their peers during weekly high-pressure sales meetings.

Our company is different.  Our technicians are not salespeople.  We have no quotas and no weekly sales meetings.  We do not pressure our technicians to make sales and they are not paid a commission based on sales.

Instead, we follow the same business model we’ve used since our founding:  Do what’s best for the customer.  If a simple, low-cost repair will solve a customer’s problem, that’s what our technicians are trained to do first.  If that’s not feasible, then and only then, do we suggest replacing or upgrading fixtures or equipment.  Of course, if a customer wants new equipment, we’re more than happy to provide and install whatever the customer desires, and we’ll be there to help with any choices or questions they may have.  But it’s our customer’s choice!  We will never force or mislead our customers into having unnecessary work performed.
